DESCRIPTION:Gain confidence in layout work\, writing field notes for as-built conditions\, and future records. Perform math checks to minimize or eliminate errors. Set proper grade points using the right equipment for each task. \n\n\n\nLearn how to:\n\n	Prepare field notes\n	Use transits\, levels\, and lasers in setting grades from benchmarks\n	Set and turn angles\, building layouts and basic math\n	Recognize common errors and how to eliminate common field mistakes\n\nBenefits of attending:\n\n\n	Benefit from hands-on experience in the class labs\n	Participants will use what is discussed in the lectures in real work class labs\n	Lab exercises will be outside and model real work conditions\n\nWho should attend: \n\nOffice and field personnel involved in construction layout work\, excavation work\, utility and site work\, highway construction\, and anyone working with elevations\, benchmarks\, and setting grade points.\n\n\n\nPlease note: This course takes place on several different dates - See date and time description for details. \n\n\n\nStudents should bring a scientific calculator or Smart Phone. If you have access to a laser or level and transit\, please bring them on field lab mornings\; a 100' tape\, and plumb bob is also used. Limited to 15 students due to hands-on activities.
