Competent Person Fall Protection
The course will review the methods to identify fall hazards and discuss the ways to eliminate or address the fall hazard. Focus on both regulatory (OSHA) requirements and best industry practices. Gain knowledge critical in protecting employees from the dangers of working at heights. COurse will include lecture, hands-on activities, and tabletop-style exercises using potential workplace scenarios.
Each attendee completing the course will be able to:
- Understand the methods to assessing the site.
- Develop corrective actions.
- Perform proper inspections of the equipment.
- Recognize the OSHA requirements for training personnel.
- Understand the OSHA rules and regulations pertaining to fall protection and fall protection systems.
- Understand the difference between a Qualified Person and a Competent Person and the roles that they play in fall protection.
- Learn the hierarchy of controls as it relates to developing an effective fall protection plan.
- Demonstrate the proper methods of putting on and removing harnesses and demonstrate the proper inspection of equipment.
- Demonstrate the ability to calculate fall distances and clearances and assess the proper equipment to be employed.
