Simeral Construction is a general contractor based in Lititz, PA, specializing in design-build projects – primarily custom residential builds, as well as commercial, cabinetry, and service work. Founded in 1987, we’ve built a strong reputation for quality and professionalism. Our team currently includes 24 dedicated members, and most of our projects are located within 75 minutes of our office.
Position Overview
The Architectural Drafting Technician will assist in the drafting of residential construction projects.
Part-time position or Full-Time. Full time schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (with overtime as needed)

Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Designers, and Architects to develop design and construction plans.
- Work with the Cabinet Project Manager to produce detailed shop drawings.
- Create and maintain architectural drawings, primarily for residential projects.
- Utilize Softplan 2026 CAD software.
- Assist with specification development and maintain current knowledge of residential building codes.
- Coordinate with structural engineers to finalize structural designs.
- Organize and archive completed CAD folders and job plans.
- Develop detailed drawings for construction clarity.
- Participate in limited client meetings (presenting plans, taking minutes, redlining, etc.).
- Obtain design samples and product information as needed.
- Conduct occasional field visits to review design-related issues with project managers and foremen.
- Perform material takeoffs for project managers.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and deliver bids.
- Apply for and obtain necessary permits (building, zoning, sewer, etc.).
- Occasionally run local errands using a company vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
- Appreciation for architecture and design.
- Basic understanding of residential construction and building codes.
- Familiarity with site topography.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
